You are invited to join me this Saturday from 6:00–9:00 p.m. for the opening reception of an exhibition that seeks to break the artistic mold through its advocacy for social change. Collective Identity calls for oneness, openness and for greater empathy to exist among humanity.

The group exhibition, Collective Identity,  explores the elusive sense of self through a close examination of the fragility of the human psyche. Ultimately, the show aims to emphasize the notion that we are all fragile human beings; whether it be through the loss of a job or the stress of transitional social and education activities, we may all be one step removed from being in a situation where we loose our sense of self and subsequently our sense of place. United by this notion, the show will encourage the building of a stronger collective identity in order to combat societal labeling.

The exhibition will be on view at the Deborah Colton Gallery September 7–October 19.
